When AI becomes part of everyday work
Hallstahem is the public housing company in Hallstahammar. In spring 2026, 16 of their employees went through an AI Transformation Journey in Copilot with us.
The starting point
Where they stood when the journey began
Hallstahem decided early on that AI should be used, and used the right way. More than two years ago we trained them in ChatGPT. Since then they have brought their work together in Copilot, in an environment the company controls itself.
At the same time, there was a feeling of only scratching the surface. Some in the group used AI every day while many had not yet gotten started, and the gap between them was wide. The transformation journey became the way to take the whole group forward together.
The AI Transformation Journey
How the journey went
The program was shaped around where the group stood, with room both for those who were already up and running and for those who had not yet started. During the spring, online training sessions alternated with assignments that kept the work going between sessions.
In a joint workshop, participants learned how AI agents work and built their own, in smaller groups that kept developing them afterwards. The trainer then followed up with each group and suggested how the agents could be sharpened.
When the journey was over, we measured where the group had landed.
- 86% use AI at work
- 86% use Copilot
- 1.9h estimated time saved per person per week
- 23h estimated time saved per week
After the journey
Where they are now
Copilot is part of the working day at Hallstahem. Employees write texts, summarize documents, search for information and analyze data with AI. The instructions they give are detailed, with context, purpose, audience and tone. That is how you get answers good enough to keep working with.
No one in the group is hesitant or negative about Copilot, and the worry about doing something wrong is small. Almost everyone has also shared knowledge or tips with colleagues since the training. What was taught during the journey is now being passed on by the employees themselves.

The final assignment
The agents
10 agents 32.5 hours per month
As their final assignment, the employees built their own agents for tasks that recur in the business. Letters and mailings to tenants, media monitoring, project support and preparations for viewings of vacant apartments. Eight of the ten agents are shared with colleagues, so the benefit doesn't stay with the person who built them. Together they are estimated to save 32.5 hours a month, roughly one working week for the organization.

- Project support
- Apartment viewings
Words from the customer
AI and Copilot help us future-proof the way we work. By automating and streamlining our administration, we free up time and resources that we can turn directly into increased service and better customer care for the people we are here for.
